I decided to get the hair care products out of the way, so today we’re talking about the hair oil from Difeel. I got it from my husband together with the shampoo and I was excited at first because I wear my hair long now and I’m always happy to use something that supposedly makes the hair grow. This oil can also be used on the scalp as a hair mask but I didn’t go crazy with it because I do have oily hair and I didn’t want to go overboard.
Packaging:
The hair oil comes in a plastic bottle with a little dropper and it contains 75 ml (see, this one doesn’t have a weird quantity). The packaging is simple, with a green label so nothing too fancy but it’s in tone with the natural ingredients of the oil.
Texture:
It’s an oil, so it’s…oily. It does have a scent, but I don’t think that it’s too powerful or anything and it’s pleasant so it doesn’t bother me. It also has a light color, but it’s probably all from the natural oils.
Ingredients:
Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Canola Oil, Fragrance (Parfum), Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Mentha Arvensis Leaf Oil, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Extract, Hypericum Perforatum Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Rosa Canina Fruit Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Extract, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Menthol, BHT, Amyl Cinnamal, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Limonene, Coumarin, Citronellol, Isoeugenol, Eugenol, Citral.
Although rosemary and mint are listed as the main ingredients, there are plenty of other natural ingredients in this oil blend such as castor oil, sweet almond oil, meadowfoam seed oil, cucumber fruit extract, olive leaf extract, eucalyptus leaf extract, rosehip fruit extract, willow bark extract and of course biotin.
Rosemary oil is a natural antioxidant, has anti-inflammatory and tonic effect, improves skin circulation and activates metabolic processes. Regulates sebum production, has good antimicrobial properties. Gives hair shine and volume.
Peppermint oil has an invigorating effect. It has disinfectant and strengthening properties, it has a positive effect on regeneration, improves the protective functions of the epidermis. It stimulates hair growth, helps strengthen hair from root to tip and adds shine.
Sweet almond oil nourishes hair and gives it shine.
Olive oil nourishes and moisturizes, has antioxidant and regenerating effect, makes hair shiny and smooth.
Biotin has a regulatory role in the skin and helps maintain its health, is involved in the metabolism of skin fats and stimulates hair growth. Biotin helps stimulate the production of hair’s own collagen.
Eucalyptus extract stimulates hair growth.
Mint extract promotes rapid hair restoration, refreshes and provides volume.
Cucumber extract moisturizes, gives hair elasticity and protects it from the negative effects of the environment.
Price and accessibility:
Difeel products are available exclusively in Catena pharmacies, but I noticed that this hair oil can also found in a couple of online stores. It’s actually quite affordable, just around 5 euros in the pharmacy, but it’s sold for double the price in other online shops so I would definitely go with the pharmacy.
My overall opinion:
I tried to use this oil on the scalp as well for 2 or 3 times, but it makes my hair oily even if I shampoo it twice. My scalp just doesn’t like oils, so I can’t use it to stimulate hair growth. Instead, I apply it on my hair strands, from the half of the length towards the ends and I did notice that my hair is less prone to split ends. Of course, now I use a conditioner each time I was my hair so that probably also has a role in this.
Therefore, I don’t know how much this oil blend can help with hair growth because I don’t like to use it directly on the scalp, but I would say that it’s a nice hair oil to make the hair shiny and smooth. Probably for dry hair it works even better. However, i will not repurchase it and I have no interest in using another hair oil. I’ll stick with conditioners and hair masks because that seem to be enough for me.
