I remember that Missha BB creams were going viral for a hot minute, so now that they were on sale in the Dr. Max pharmacy, I decided to finally try one to see for myself if it’s so great. I got the travel size because I wanted to see how I liked it first.
The brand Missha was founded in South Korea in 2000 and in 2020 their BB cream blow up in the beauty world, around the same time as Korean skin care started to be all the rage.
Packaging:
The BB cream comes in a red plastic tube and I have the small size (20 ml), but it’s also available in 50 ml tubes, just like most face creams. Given that it does have a thick consistency, I don’t mind that there isn’t a bottle with a pump and I actually think the tube is a more suitable option.
Texture:

Like I said, this BB cream has a thick consistency and you really don’t need a lot of product for the entire face.

There are several shades available and I have on the darkest which is No. 23 Natural Beige. I know it looks a little bit crazy on my hand, but trust me, it blends wonderfully into the skin so it looks natural. I didn’t want one of the lighter shades because I don’t want to look like Casper the friendly ghost.
Ingredients:
Water (Aqua)A11A11:A48, Cyclopentasiloxane, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Zinc Oxide, Propylene Glycol, Titanium Dioxide, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Glycerin, Arbutin, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Mineral Oil, Polyethylene, Talc, Beeswax (Cera Alba), Phenyl Trimethicone, Iron Oxides (CI 77492), Sodium Chloride, Iron Oxides (CI 77499), Iron Oxides (CI 77491), Fragrance, Methylparaben, Dimethicone, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Propylparaben, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Squalane, Disodium EDTA, Adenosine, Butylene Glycol, Ceramide NP, Fagus Sylvatica Bud Extract, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Hizikia Fusiforme Extract, Laminaria Japonica Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, Benzyl Alcohol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phenoxyethanol, Benzoic Acid, Tropolone, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Benzyl Salicylate, Citronellol, Limonene, Hexyl Cinnamal, Hydroxycitronellal, Linalool.
I love the fact that it contains all kinds of ingredients that are so good for the skin such as macadamia seed oil, rose hip oil, jojoba seed oil, European beech bud extract, collagen, chamomile extract, Hiziki extract (a type of brown seaweed), Laminaria Japonica extract (another type of seaweed) and rosemary leaf extract.
It’s like having a makeup product infused with all kinds of skin care ingredients. It also has SPF 42, so you don’t even need to apply another SPF on top.
Price and accessibility:
In the past, Missha products were not easy to find in Romania, but now they are available in plenty of online shops and beauty stores. Like I said, I got mine from Dr. Max, a pharmacy chain and it was 30% off, so I got the small tube for just 5 euros. It’s more than worth it if you ask me because it’s cheaper than most drugstore foundations, even if it’s not the full size.
My overall opinion:
I do have to say that I get what all the hype is about. This BB cream looks just like foundation on the skin because it provides high coverage, but it contains a lot of skin care ingredients and even SPF, so it’s like a 3 in 1 product if you ask me. I looks so natural, no streaks, no traces on the clothes, it’s the perfect BB cream. I always wanted to like BB creams but I’m sorry to say that the drugstore brands that I tried don’t know how to make one.
So far, it’s my favorite BB cream and I will definitely repurchase it, but this time in the full size because I have a feeling that I will not be going without it from now on.
