Lavertu Renewal Adaptive Lip Oil review

Latley, I’m all about lip oils and that is what I use on daily basis because I care less about color and more about having smooth, hydrated lips. Plus, they’re perfect for work because I don’t have to worry about wearing too bold of a color.

Lavertu is a brand founded in 1985 by Fred van Wolffelaar. All of the product are a combination between makeup and skincare and they have that adaptive thing to them. They are popular here in Romania for their green PH adaptive lipsticks, for example.

Packaging:

This lip oil comes in fancy packaging. Instead of the tube, it’s one of those click-on pens that releases just small amounts of product and it also has the metal tip that I see seems to be very popular with lip products lately. Unfortunately, the tube contains just 1.7 ml, which is very little, even if it’s just a lip product.

Texture:

I took a picture, but there’s not much that you can see. It’s just a clear lip oil that doesn’t add any type or shimmer or anything, it’s just adds a little bi of shine to the lips. There is also a lightly tinted version, in a rosy shade, but I have the Nature Glow shade, which is just a clear one.

Ingredients:

Paraffinum Liquidum • C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate • Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer • Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer • Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil • Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate • Isohexadecane • BHT • Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride • Sodium Hyaluronate • Xanthan Gum • Phenoxyethanol • Stearalkonium Hectorite • Propylene Carbonate • Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 • Tripeptide-1

The key ingredients are jojoba oil, hyaluronic acid, peptides and coconut oil, which are all deeply nourishing and moisturizing ingredients.

Price and accessibility:

Lavertu is a brand that is available in Romania only in pharmacies, as much as I can tell. I got mine from the Catena pharmacy, but I don’t know the price because it was a gift from my husband. On the brand’s website, this lip oil is listed for 18 euros, but I found it for around 10 euros at the Spring Pharma online pharmacy.

My overall opinion:

Listen, this is just a basic lip oil. There’s nothing to hate, but there’s also nothing to rave about. Also, considering that you get only 1.7 ml of product, it’s not worth it 10 euros and definitely not worth 18 euros. I wouldn’t pay that much because there are more affordable lip oils on the market that do just the same thing. I think this is one of those products that is good, but it’s also overpriced.
