It’s time that we talk about another product that I got in this month’s Bellebox and this time it’s the face cream from Skin Sorbet. I had used a face serum from Skin Sorbet at the beginning of the year, but I wasn’t that impressed with the product because I didn’t feel like it did much for my skin. Luckily, the face cream seems to be better as far as I can tell so far.
Packaging:

The packaging, although it’s a bright red plastic jar seems to be on the trendier side. It has one of those pressurized jars, that you have to pump to get the product out. The lid is magnetic, so you don’t have to twist it, you just pull it out and you can close it just as easily with one hand. I do have to say that it looks cool. However, it does look large, although you get the same amount of product as in every other face cream, namely 50 ml.
Texture:

This face cream has a light texture, that absorbs fast into the skin and it has a yummy cherry scent. I do need two pump for each use, so the amount you see in the picture is what comes out with one pump. It doesn’t make the face look shiny, which I like so that’s why I use this face cream in the morning and I use a different face cream in the evening that is more hydrating, but that does make the face look a little bit shiny.
Ingredients:
AQUA, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, GLYCERIN, NIACINAMIDE, GLYCERYL STEARATE SE, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII BUTTER, XYLITYLGLUCOSIDE, ANHYDROXYLITOL, PANTHENOL, PRUNUS AMYGDALUS DULCIS OIL, MARIS AQUA, CETEARETH-20, PRUNUS AVIUM FRUIT EXTRACT, XYLITOL, TOCOPHEROL, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS SEED OIL, CITRIC ACID, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, LACTIC ACID, PARFUM, POLYACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER-6, SODIUM BENZOATE, POTASSIUM SORBATE, PHENOXYETHANOL, CI 14720, TETRAMETHYL ACETYLOCTAHYDRONAPTHALENES, VANILLIN, COUMARIN, HEXAMETHYLINDANOPYRAN, BENZALDEHYDE, BENZYL BENZOATE
The key ingredients in this face cream are mineral sea water (2%) extracted from the island of Noirmoutier in France, which is naturally enriched with mineral trace elements such as magnesium, calcium and zinc, then the NMF boosting sugar complex (a combination of sugar molecules that activates the synthesis of the natural moisturizing factor), niacinamide (3%) and panthenol (1%). There is also shea butter in there, sweet almond oil and cherry extract. All in all, the formula is interesting enough because it contains certain ingredients that I like to have in my skin care products.
Price and accessibility:
Skin Sorbet products are not available in the Romanian market. On the brand’s website, this face cream is listed for 22.90 euros, which makes this no exactly an affordable face cream in my opinion, but I also wouldn’t be too mad about it because I think it’s worth it to splurge a little bit for a good face cream.
My overall opinion:
I can’t say that I love this face cream because I wouldn’t go out of my way to order it from Bulgaria (it’s a Bulgarian brand), but I am glad that we got it in the beauty box because it seems to be a good face cream. I don’t know how good it would be for dry skin, if it provides enough hydration, but for normal and combination skin, I think it gets the job done. I love everything that has niacinamide in it and it also has good ingredients to look in moisture such as shea butter, panthenol and sweet almond oil, therefore my skin seems to like it and it’s definitely better then the face serum that I used a couple of months ago. So, if you don’t mind the slightly higher price tag and you want to try something from Skin Sorbet, I would say that this face cream could be a good idea.
