essence is one of my favorite drugstore brands because they have a lot of good quality products at very affordable prices. They’re like Color Pop, in the sense that they often come out with various limited edition collection. I can’t usually get hold of them all, and I’m not interested in all of them, but some are very cute and I can’t resist not getting at least a couple of limited edition products.
Since I’m already feeling festive and I love love love the holiday season, I couldn’t pass on this very cute collection called ho! ho! ho! I didn’t get the nail stickers and the nail stamp because I’m not big on doing my nails and I couldn’t get hold of the cute highlighter brush since it was out of stock everywhere, but I got all the rest of the products.
I’m not doing a review because I haven’t gotten around to play and try out everything properly, but I figured it’s a good idea to show you the products because if you want to buy them, now’s the time. Their LE products are most of the time quickly out of stock.

essence ho! ho!ho! bath bomb greeting card
This cute greeting card has a reindeer on it and its nose is actually a strawberry scented bath bomb. The card says Merry Christmas on the inside so you can simply write something there and give it as a gift, or you can gift it as it is. I bought this for myself because the reindeer was too cute to pass on. I haven’t tried any of their bath products so I don’t know how they are, but the bath bomb seems to have a decent size and I will probably save it as a treat during the holidays.

essence ho! ho! ho! body and hair shimmer spray
It’s in the scent 01 be merry and bright! It doesn’t smell like something specific, it’s a very light and fresh scent that has no notable lasting power. However, I do appreciate the fact that the glitter is very fine and not chunky and it does look nice on the skin, perfect for holiday parties. The bottle contains 100 ml.

essence ho! ho! ho! lip balm
This cute lip balm comes in a Christmas ornament that you can even hang in your tree if you want, or put it to your keychain. It’s a tinted lip balm, that gives just a slight red color on the lips. The shade is called 01 let it snow!

essence ho! ho! ho! iridescent powder highlighter
This highlighter has a very nice Christmas pattern embossed on the pan but I don’t know if it shows up good in the picture. There are stars, some Christmas baubles and tree branches. It comes in the regular size of 10 grams. The shade is 01 twinkle, twinkle! and it’s a pale iridescent pink. It’s very soft and buildable, so you can use it as a more subtle highlighter or layer it up for a stronger effect. I prefer the first version.

essence ho! ho! ho! eyeshadow palette
The star of the show is this 9-pan eyeshadow palette. It comes in a simple cardboard packaging, that looks like recycled paper – which I don’t mind because it’s simple and cute, and the design with stars and snowflakes is made with silver. The palette is in the version 01 jingle all the way and it contains 9 grams. I did some swatches with and without flash.

The shades have no names sadly because I would love some cute holiday-related names, but that doesn’t matter really.
There are 2 matte shades, 2 satin shades, 4 shimmery shades, and one pressed glitter. The glitter is a little chunky, but it can be applied with a synthetic brush, without using glitter glue. However, I think it’s too out there to wear it on other occasions that at parties or in clubs. I do love how it looks and it’s a mixture of pink, gold and green glitters – very suitable for Christmas.
The 2 matte shades are a chocolate brown and a rich brown, which I would use in the crease or deepen the outer corner.
The 2 satin shades are a purple and a rosy pink.
The 4 shimmer shades are a gold, a berry pink, a coppery gold and another shade of pink that I wouldn’t know how to describe but it’s beautiful.
The color scheme is nothing new, granted, but the eyeshadows feel soft – I don’t like hard pans for some reason – and they’re full of glitter and sparkle and this is my style. Plus, it’s a very affordable palette – I bought it for around 6 euros, so I don’t regret anything.
These are all the products that I have from the ho ho ho collection and I must say I’m very glad I got my hands of it and I can’t wait with what other things essence comes out next.
