The eyeshadow palette tag

All-focus

It’s been a while since I showed you my eyeshadow collection, so I decided to to this tag that I’ve seen all over the beauty community to talk about my favorite makeup products of all time: eyeshadow palettes. I have a basket full of these, and it’s not as much as other people have but I know it’s more than I could use for years to come, so I decided not to buy anything new until I declutter at least one of them. My goal is to get rid of palettes I don’t particularly care for when I hit pan on the most used shades, so at least I feel like I get my money’s worth, you know? So, with that in mind, let’s get started.

  1. Newest eyeshadow palette

All-focus

The latest addition is the Too Faced Shake Your Palm Palms palette, which I very much enjoy using. My favorite shade in the palette is that olive gold I’m Outta Here shade.

2. Oldest eyeshadow palette

I Love Makeup Revolution I Heart Chocolate Pink Fizz palette. I can still use it, but the shadows are definitely drier than what they used to be and the quality wasn’t that amazing from the beginning. It’s a palette I plan to get rid of as soon as I hit pan on the most used shades, which are all from the top row: Champers, Drink, Flute and Sparkling. I also like the blue Celebrate shade and the Rosy shade, but they don’t perfom as good as I want them to, so I don’t use them that often. France was also a beautiful color in the pan, a royal blue one, but it doesn’t blend well on the lid.

3. Most expensive eyeshadow palette

It’s the Too Faced Christmas Cookie House Party palette I bought last Christmas just because it came in a set. I like it and I fulfilled my wish to buy one of their Christmas palettes but I wouldn’t do it again. I like the shades, but I tend to gravitate towards small palettes because they’re just easier to use and I’m a neutral girl anyways. My favorite color is the emerald green Drink Up, Grinches, but the most used one is Tinsel Town, because it’s sparkly and it has a beautiful shift to it.

4. Most affordable eyeshadow palette

essence ho! ho! ho! eyshadow palette. The quality is ok, but I just don’t use reds and golds that often, so I don’t get much use out of it. My favorite color in the palette is that pinky mauve one in the bottom right corner.

5. Everyday eyeshadow palette

All-focus

Too Faced Tutti Frutti Sparkling Pineapple. It’s a neutral palette with a pop of gold and a beautiful teal shade. And the eyeshadows perform so well, I always obtain a beautiful look with it in just 5 minutes. I don’t have a favorite color because I like them all.

6. Most colorful eyeshadow palette

All-focus

I don’t tend to use colorful palettes, so the most “out there” palette I have is the Soph X Revolution Extra Spice palette. Because I’m not into colorful looks I don’t particularly like this palette, so it’s also one I will probably get rid of in the months to come.

7. Smallest eyeshadow palette

This Laura Geller palette is actually just a trio. It’s kind of boring but it’s good for a quick neutral look on the go and for days when I don’t feel like adding a shimmery eyeshadow (which doesn’t occur often).

8. Biggest eyeshadow pallete

All-focus

essence Into the Snow Glow is the biggest I have, but it’s due to the fact it also has blushes and highlighters. The eyeshadows are not that special, but I just love the cute packaging.

9. Eyeshadow palette with the best memory

All-focus

I can’t say there’s something special about any of my palettes. It’s a tie between the Becca Volcano Goddess which was my first high end makeup palette and the Too Faced Christmas palette because I wanted one of these for so many years. And yes, I actually put it on my credit card and paid for it for three months. Crazy, I know.

10. Eyeshadow palette worth the hype

I don’t have any eyeshadow palette that has been hyped, all had pretty much luke-warms reviews on the internet but I have many that I like for different reasons, so I don’t care about the hype, just about the color story and the quality.

11. Eyeshadow palette not worth the hype

Again, I don’t have anything that’s been hyped-up in my collection, so I wouldn’t know.

12. Favorite eyeshadow palette from favorite brand

All-focus

I have to give this one again to the Too Faced Sparkling Pineapple palette.

13. Most used palette

All-focus

Sephora Donut Miniature Palette, just because I want to hit pan on the three shades I use the most: Cream, Candy and Almond. It’s the only non cruelty-free palette I have and I want to get rid of it. I already panned the Cream shade, but I still have work to do with the other two shades.

I didn’t see this question is the tag, but I would also like to add the most disappointing palette I have which is the Bellapierre Peach Blossom palette (just because it’s too expensive for the quality it offers).

All-focus

I would also like to mention two affordable palettes that get a lot of love from me: Sleek All The Fun Of The Fair and Del Mar Vol II. They’re not as pigmented, but definitely buildable and I like their color story very much.

I hope you liked to take a peak into my small eyeshadow palette collection, I know I love to do that and please remember that makeup is just for fun, it shouldn’t matter what each of us likes or dislikes.

  1. Thanks for sharing. I’m glad I’m not the only eyeshadow palette junkie/hoarder out there! I can’t resist sometimes. Especially if I see one on sale.
