I don’t usually do reviews on makeup removers because they’re mostly all the same, but since Rilastil is a new brand for me, I decided to write a few things about this micellar solution. Rilastil is an Italian brand that can be found in several online shops, but I bought this product from a pharmacy. Rilastil is a cruelty free brand that was created by Ganassini family in 1972 and their products are targeted mostly towards sensitive and problematic skin. They also have some makeup products, for the face and the eyes and I’m tempted to try their foundation.
Packaging:
The micellar solution comes in a blue plastic bottle that has one of those caps that you can open just by pushing it down, so it’s very convenient to use. It comes in two different sizes, 250 ml and 400 ml. I have the 250 ml bottle, which is quite enough for me because I use it only as an eye makeup remover.
Texture:
It’s a clear liquid, without any fragrance since it’s meant for sensitive skin.
Ingredients:
Aqua (Water) • PEG-6 Caprylic / Capric Glycerides • Glycerin • Bisabolol • Cetrimonium bromide • Tocopheryl Acetate • Disodium Phosphate • Disodium EDTA • Citric Acid.
Price and accessibility:
Rilastil products are easy accessible because they are sold not only in online shops but also in a large pharmacy chain called Catena, so you can get them in almost any city. The micellar solution is not exactly cheap. I paid for my bottle 28 lei which is around 6 euros, but it’s the same as a bottle of L’Oreal makeup removers or large bottles of Garnier or Nivea makeup removers.
My overall opinion:
I can’t tell much from the ingredients list, but it is suitable for sensitive skin and for the eyes, as my eyes are sensitive and I didn’t have any problem using this product. It also does a good job removing the makeup, including the mascara, which is always a little more difficult to remove, depending on the formula.
All in all, I’m happy with my purchase and like I mentioned before, I think I want to try some more of the Rilastil line. I have my eye on the foundation and on the eye makeup products (mascaras and eye pencils), but the skin care line doesn’t seem like a good match for sensitive skin, so I will think about it.
