Myvitamins Hair, Skin & Nails vitamins (15-day trial) review

All-focus

I didn’t plan on doing a separate post on these capsules, in fact I didn’t even noticed them as much when I got them in my July Lookfantastic beauty box, but I took them anyway because the ingredients seemed harmless enough and I could always use something for my nails because they’re constantly breaking.

I got 30 capsules, which are enough for 15 days, as the recommended dosage is 2 capsules daily. I still have 3 days to go, but I want to throw my 2 cents about this dietary supplement because I also reviewed the Hairburst hair vitamins, and it’s also beauty related so why not?

Myvitamins is an online website that sells all kinds of dietary supplements, especially vitamins since 2012. As far as I could tell from looking online, they have a good reputation and people seem to be happy in general with their vitamins which are more affordable priced in comparison to other vitamins. My trial bottle was worth 8.50 UK pounds, but I don’t know the price for a month’s supply because this product is out of stock on their website and I can’t find it anywhere else. Maybe they discontinued it?

Ingredients:

Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid), Bulking Agent (Microcrystalline Cellulose), Capsule Shell (HydroxypropylMethylcellulose, Colour (Titanium Dioxide)), Bamboo Extract (Bambusa Arundinacea), MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane), Lutein, Bilberry Extract (Vaccinium myrtillus), Flaxseed Oil Powder, Zinc Citrate, Anti-Caking Agent (Magnesium salt of a fatty acid, Silica Dioxide), Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol), Copper Gluconate, Sodium Selenite, Potassium Iodide, D-Biotin.

So, when I first saw this ingredients list I thought great, another vitamin C supplement with some other things thrown in there. It contains bamboo extract, lutein (great for the eyesight), bilberry extract, flaxseed oil, zinc, vitamin D3, D-Biotin (the last ingredient on the list, so it can’t make much of the difference).

However, I don’t know if it’s their formula or the natural extracts or what but…for me it works! My nails grew significantly faster these last couple of weeks and they are not as fragile as they used to be.

My skin looks great, I had a small acne break out on the chin probably because of the protection masks I wear and now they are almost gone. Granted, maybe it’s the combination of the skin care I use and the capsules, but I can’t tell for sure because I’m not using any anti-acne products, just a gentle cleaner and hyaluronic acid moisturizers.

As far as the hair goes, I think that’s where it’s most difficult to see any results. maybe that’s why i wasn’t impressed with the Hairburst vitamins. My hair is the same as always. There is still some fall out when I wash my hair, but nothing alarming and I don’t have any particular issues.

So, I don’t know about the hair, but I do see some improvements regarding my nails and my skin and I would say that if you’re looking into dietary supplements for the health of the skin and nails, these vitamins may be something you could try.

I won’t continue using them just because I couldn’t find them in any Romanian shop and I sure won’t pay for the extra shipping to buy them from abroad when I have plenty of alternatives on the local market.
