August 2020 Lookfantastic Beauty Box Unboxing (The Radiance Edition)

All-focus

I can’t believe it’s the last month of summer and I’m finally preparing for my vacation, so the Lookfantastic beauty box comes handy because I can use some mini products to take with me so I don’t have to carry my entire bathroom cabinet with me (if you know what I mean).

Augusts’s box comes in a nice bright orange-reddish packaging with some cute coral tissue paper. The theme is “Radiance”, so the products all have something to do with what makes you radiate and glow during summer.

This month there were also two variants of the box available, which was interesting because one variant has no makeup at all, but the other has two makeup products instead of the one we usually get. Hmmm… I got variant 1, which is what I wanted because it contained the two makeup products. Don’t get me wrong, I like skin care a lot, that’s why I like Lookfantastic, but they’re usually sample sizes or minis and I go through them like in a week and then it seems I have to wait for soooo long for some new products. At least the makeup products last longer and that’s why I like receiving them.

Bellapierre Cosmetics Mineral Blush in Amaretto

All-focus

This product is worth 15 UK pounds and it’s a full size. The eyeshadow palette from this brand was a disappointment, but this blush is actually cute because it looks like a subtle vintage rose shade with a tiny bit of shimmer so I think it looks great for that healthy glow look.

I only swatched it so far, but I think I will like the blush a lot (I like subtle blushes and highlighters). You can read my review of the Bellapierre Cosmetics Mineral Blush in Amaretto on my blog.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum (10 ml)

All-focus

Next up is a sample size of this serum worth 15.33 UK pounds. I heard Caudalie products are supposed to be very good (although they’re not cruelty free). The serum is supposed to be used as night to lighten dark spots on the skin in just 4 weeks. Obviously, the sample will not last me for 4 weeks, but I think about 10 days and I will see if I notice something different. Plus, French skin care always seems so bougie for some reason. You can read my review of the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum on my blog.

Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara (4 ml)

All-focus

This mini mascara is worth 10 UK pounds. Although I wasn’t too impressed with their brow gel, a mascara is always nice because I go through those often. I use mascara every day so, it’s not something that I’m upset about receiving. There were two options available, either this mascara or the Black Magic mascara. You can read my review of the Eyeko Lash Alert mascara on my blog.

Ahava Sea-kissed Mineral Body Lotion ( 40 ml)

All-focus

Another sample size, this time a body lotion from Ahava worth 8 UK pounds. I heard about this brand, but I really don’t know much about it. I used to be bothered to receive body lotions, but since I tend to neglect using this type of product for some reason, it’s good to have this little samples to apply now and then when I feel like my skin is dry (which doesn’t happen often during summer). There were also two options available, either this body lotion or the Deadsea Water Mineral body lotion. You can read my review of the Ahava Sea-kissed Mineral Body Lotion on my blog.

Mio Sun-drenched Body Wash (30 ml)

All-focus

Another sample, this time worth 3.15 UK pounds, from the brand owned by the same company that has the Lookfantastic box (so I wonder why we didn’t get a full size product). This is a citrus-scented body wash with some shimmer particles in it (in theme with the box), but the sample will surely last me only one time…

Percy & Reed Perfectly Perfecting Wonderbalm (30 ml)

All-focus

The final product is another sample, this time for the hair, worth 8 UK pounds. How cute is the packaging on this one? This works like a primer for the hair to apply on damp hair before styling it. I never tried something like this before, so I’m curious to see if it actually does something to my hair. You can read my review of the Percy & Reed Perfectly Perfecting Wonderbalm on my blog.

I can say that I liked this box, it fits with the radiance, summer glow theme that they were going for. The box is worth 59.48 UK pounds, which is on the lower end for Lookfantastic boxes, but I liked the products. My favorite so far is the blush, because I like the color. I can also use the mascara and the serum. The body lotion and the body wash are kind of ok, just because I’m happy with my drugstore ones and I don’t see the point of buying expensive products for everyday hygiene, you know? The hair balm sounds cool, but I have to see how it works. Overall, there’s a little bit of everything in this box, makeup, skin care, body care and hair care.

We also got a sneak peak for September’s box which will contain  a sample size (15 ml) of the Elemis Pro-collagen Marine Cream, a super cream that I heard so much about.

I know people are often disappointed with sample size, but I quite like the Lookfantastic box because it’s the only one that ships to Romania, I like even the samples because I get to test some more expensive or high end brands that I normally wouldn’t touch or I get to try some cool UK brands that are not available in my country. Most likely, I will maintain my subscription for next year as well because I like my monthly surprises and until there it no better box out there, I will continue to get this one.

If you enjoyed this unboxing and you want to subscribe to the Lookfantastic beauty box, I would highly appreciate it if you would use my my referral code and subscribe. (But don’t feel obliged to do it!)
