SYS Calming Eye Sorbet review

SYS stands for Superfood 4 Your Skin. This is a German brand that creates all kinds of skin care products enriched with probiotic. The products are vegan, cruelty free, and free from silicone, parabens, mineral oils and color agents. SYS products are available exclusively in Douglas stores and I got to try this eye cream because I received mine in the Douglas Autumn Box Of Beauty.

Packaging:

The eye cream comes in a hard plastic jar. As far as I can tell all their products have black packaging. The full size product contains 15 ml, which is what I got.

Texture:

The cream has the texture of a white eye gel, that has a slight cooling effect. The calming line is suitable for those with sensitive skin and as far as I’m concerned, it really is very calming on the eyes and it absorbs fast into the skin without being sticky. It doesn’t have any scent (why would you want any in an eye cream at all, right?)

Ingredients:

AQUA/WATER/EAU, LACTOCOCCUS FERMENT LYSATE, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, SODIUM POLYACRYLATE, DECYL OLEATE, PHENOXYETHANOL, PANTHENOL, VIGNA ACONITIFOLIA SEED EXTRACT, CARBOMER, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL, SODIUM COCOYL GLUTAMATE, TOCOPHEROL, BISABOLOL, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, SODIUM HYDROXIDE, LACTIC ACID, BIOSACCHARIDE GUM-1, SODIUM CHLORIDE, SODIUM BENZOATE, PANTOLACTONE, CITRIC ACID, ZINGIBER OFFICINALE (GINGER) ROOT EXTRACT

Its nutritious formula is enriched with ginger extract, Vigna Aconitifolia and vegan probiotic. While ginger extract has an anti-inflammatory and decongestant effect, Vigna aconitifolia stimulates collagen synthesis, helping to accelerate skin renewal and reduce smaller wrinkles. The vegan probiotic supports the healing of delicate skin around the eyes.

Price and accessibility:

Like I said before, SYS products can be bought only in Douglas stores and in the Douglas online shop. The eye cream is sold here for 119 lei, which is around 24.45 euros, which is the same price as in Germany. It’s not exactly an affordable eye cream, but considering that eye creams take some to use up (I think I’m only half way there and I’ve been using mine twice a day since I got it middle October, I think it’s not that bad.

My overall opinion:

I used to think that eye creams where really unnecessary, because a normal face cream would do, but after using a couple of more expensive eye creams (like one from Bruno Vassari and one from Avant Cosmetics), I changed my mind.

The area around the eyes has different needs when it comes to skincare, especially if you have to worry about fine line (which I do, because I’m in my 30s). While I have combination skin and I don’t do well with rich creams all over my faces, I do think that for my eyes I need something different.

From all the eye creams I used so far, SYS’ calming eye sorbet must be favorite. So much that I want to buy it on my own when I will need another eye cream. I can see a difference in my fine line since I use it and the eye area feels so nice and hydrated. It doesn’t help with dark circles, but it does have a certain depuffing effect, which I notice especially in the morning.

I would really recommend trying this eye cream and I want to try some more SYS products as well. After Madera, SYS is a skin care brand that I discovered thanks to beauty boxes and I’m very glad I did!
