Balance Me AHA Glow Mask review

To be honest, I’m not the biggest fan of Balance Me products because I didn’t see any notable effects when using them, but since this is a face mask and one that contains AHAs, one of the skin ingredients that I recently discovered that I loved, I decided it’s a good idea to share my opinion on the mask. I had only a mini size (10 ml), but I got 4 uses out of it, so that’s great.

Packaging:

The mask comes in a plastic tube. Balance Me products have white packaging and they have different color codes depending on the line. For example, this one is yellow.

Texture:

The face mask feels and looks like a white thick face cream and it has a citrusy scent. It doesn’t feel as gritty as usual clay masks.

Ingredients:

Aqua (Water), Kaolin, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Citric Acid, Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Cetearyl Glucoside, Malic Acid, Tartaric Acid, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract, Citrus Medica (Lemon) Fruit Juice Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Angelica Archangelica (Angelica) Leaf Oil, Pelargonium Roseum (Rose Geranium) Leaf Oil, Tilia Cordata (Linden) Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Oil, Anthemis Nobilis (Roman Chamomile) Flower Oil, Cananga Odorata (Ylang Ylang) Flower Oil, Mentha Viridis (Spearmint) Leaf Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus (Eucalyptus) Leaf Oil, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice Powder, Silica, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan) Powder, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Sodium Hydroxide, Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Linalool, Limonene, Geraniol, Benzyl Benzoate.

The key ingredients listed on the brand’s website are lactic acid, malic acid, glycolic acid, kaolin clay and linden essential oil. The formula is vegan and cruelty free. 99.4% of the ingredients are of natural origin, but the carrageenan can be pore-clogging for some people and essential oils are also not tolerated by everyone in skin care.

The first ingredients on the list are water, kaolin, glycerin, ceterayl alcohol and Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, but there is also sweet almond oil here, apple fruit extract, grape fruit extract, lemon fruit juice extract, sugar cane extract, angelica leaf oil, rose geranium leaf oil, lavender flower oil, roman chamomile flower oil, ylang ylang flower oil, spearmint leaf oil, eucalyptus leaf oil, aloe vera leaf juice powder and vitamin E.

Overall, the ingredients list looks great and I don’t see anything that would bother me.

Price and accessibility:

Balance Me products are not available here in Romania as they can be ordered only online. They are not exactly affordable but also not too expensive. For example, the full size of this face mask (50 ml) retails on the brand’s website for 25 euros.

My overall opinion:

I like the combination of AHAs obtained from fruit extracts and kaolin clay to draw out the skin’s impurities, brighten and plump out the skin. It’s more gentle on the skin than most clay masks (that tend to make the skin feel very dry after removing them) and it also makes the skin look radiant and moisturized at the same time. I would like to use it again, but only if you would find it here in stores.
