Eyeko Galactic Lid Gloss in Zodiac review

I known Eyeko mostly for their mascaras and eyeliners and now I also got to try one of their cream eyeshadows because I got a mini eyeshadow in my Lookfantastic box. It’s in the shade Zodiac, a copper shade that goes well with all kinds of neutral eyeshadow looks and with warm tones in general.

Packaging:

The eyeshadow comes in a tube with an applicator, very similar to a lip gloss, hence the name of “lid gloss”. The full size contains 8 grams and my mini size has about the half of that. It’s still quite enough because you don’t need much product.

Texture:

It’s not exactly a cream eyeshadow because it’s more liquidy than that, very similar to a glittery gloss. That’s why you don’t need much product to apply it all over the lid. It dries out though and it doesn’t smudge.

Ingredients:

Water/Aqua/Eau, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Glycerin, Mica, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Aminomethyl Propanol, Tin Oxide [+/- May Contain/Peut Contenir: Iron Oxides (Ci 77491, Ci 77499), Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891)]

The formula is vegan and cruelty free.

Price and accessibility:

Eyeko products are available mainly at Sephora. They are not exactly expensive, but they’re mid-range as drugstore eyeshadows are more affordable. The full size of this cream eyeshadow retails for 19 US dollars on the brand’s website.

My overall opinion:

I like the color, the fact that it doesn’t feel gritty on the lids despite being so glittery and that it doesn’t smudge, especially if you apply it over an eye primer. It can be used on its own or as a topper and it’s very very sparkly. That’s why I wouldn’t use it on daily basis, like for an office look or for a subtle everyday look. The eyeshadow is really a pop of color and glitter and it’s out there, for parties and other events where you want to have a statement look. Unfortunately since there are no parties in sight given the current circumstances, I will probably won’t use it that often, just to have fun with my makeup on weekends.

The quality is there, so I would say that it’s worth the price and it’s worth trying for those who like to use cream products. I’m somewhere in between so to say because I prefer powders but I don’t mind playing with cream eyeshadows from time to time.
