First Aid Beauty Hello Fab Coconut Water Cream review

I got just a mini size of this cream in my Lookfantastic box, so of course now I’ve already used it up. It was interesting because it contains a lot of coconut water so, I was curious to see how it feels on the skin.

Packaging:

The full size (50 ml) comes in a very colorful jar, but the mini size (9.6 grams) came in a plastic tube that was just as colorful and fun looking as the full size product.

Texture:

The cream looked and felt like a gel cream that had a light fruity scent to it. It absorbs very fast into the skin, so maybe that’s why I went through the mini size quite fast as I felt like I had to use a large amount to really feel hydrated enough.

Ingredients:

Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Juice, Glucose, Maltodextrin, Water/Aqua/Eau, Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract, Alteromonas Ferment Filtrate, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Fruit Extract, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sea Salt (Maris Sal, Sal Marin), Lycium Barbarum Fruit Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Chrysanthemum Parthenium (Feverfew) Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Dipteryx Odorata Seed Extract, Coffea Arabica (Coffee) Seed Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Butylene Glycol, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Dipropylene Glycol, Cetyl Diglyceryl Tris(Trimethylsiloxy)silylethyl Dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol, Laureth-8.

The key ingredient listed on the brand’s website are coconut water (a nutrient rich water composed of electrolytes, amino acids, enzymes, antioxidants and phytonutrients that helps hydrate and replenish skin), sodium hyaluronate, alteromonas ferment filtrate and the FAB antioxidant booster (licorice root, feverfew and white tea extracts).

The first ingredients listed are coconut fruit juice, glucose, maltodextrin, water and dimethicone. There are also other fruit extracts in there such as apple fruit extract, apricot fruit extract, vanilla fruit extract, as well as sea salt and coffee seed extract.

Price and accessibility:

The entire First Aid Beauty range is not available here as far as I can tell, I’ve only seen a couple of products at Sephora. The full size of this cream retails for 34 US dollars on the brand’s website, so it’s not overly expensive, but I wouldn’t say it’s exactly affordable. More like a mid-range brand in terms of pricing and considering how quickly I used up this mini face cream (about a week), I think a jar wouldn’t last me more than a month, tops.

My overall opinion:

While I like the ingredients list and the face cream felt nice on the skin, it’s not exactly what I’m looking for in terms of skin care because it didn’t do anything for my dilated pores and it’s also not an anti-aging product, which is what I’m looking for in skin care right not, especially since I’m in my 30s. It was nice, but not nice enough to make me want to buy it on my own. I think it’s a decent moisturizer for young skin that doesn’t have any particular issues.
