Jecca Blac Glow Drops Primer review

I got this primer last year in one of my Lookfantastic beauty boxes. Jecca Blac is a vegan and cruelty free makeup brands which I totally support. The brand was founded by Jessica, a makeup artist from London that worked in film and Tv makeup and decided to start her own brand. It’s the first product I tried from this brand and I’m intrigued.

Packaging:

The primer comes in a plastic tube and it contains 20 ml. It’s nothing special about the packaging but it’s cute because it’s colorful not the same white packaging I’ve seen so many brands do.

Texture:

It feels quite thick and it contains a lot of shimmery particles. You only need a little because it really goes a long way. I think it would be suitable mostly for dry and dull skin because it’s too shiny for oily skin.

Ingredients:

AQUA (WATER), MICA, ETHYLHEXYL PALMITATE, GLYCERIN, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, POLYACRYLAMIDE, PHENOXYETHANOL, C13-14 ISOPARAFFIN, DISODIUM EDTA, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, C9-11 PARETH-6, CI 77491 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE)

Given that the second ingredient on the list is mica, that’s why the primer is so shimmery as it reflects light very much.

Price and accessibility:

I didn’t see Jecca Blac products on stores in Romania or online, so I don’t think it’s available here. The pricing is mid-range, as this primer retails for 18.75 euros on the brand’s website.

My overall opinion:

To be honest, I never used this as a primer. It’s just too much shimmer in there and I was afraid to use it. I have the shade Champagne, which has a golden shimmer and I don’t do well with golden shimmers in general on my skin tone. I used this as a cream highlighter on the cheekbones and most of the times as an eyeshadow topper, which I think is the best option for the way I like my makeup to be. You can imagine how a full tube of this will last me a very long time.

Considering that it’s not a makeup product that I would have added to my collection on my own because it doesn’t look nice on oily or even combination skin, it’s not something I would purchase. it’s very shimmery and I think it’s a matter of taste if you like it all over your face. Like I said, it’s better for dry and very dull skin.
