Balance Me Pre and Probiotic Cleansing Milk review

I got a mini size of this cleansing milk in June’s Lookfantastic beauty box and I had it with me on vacation, so now it’s time to give you my opinion on it.

Packaging:

The full size (180 ml) comes in a bottle with a pump, but the mini size (30 ml) came in a simple bottle with a cap. The design was the same for both products, with the white bottles and the purple circle to emphasize the product line it comes from. I didn’t mind the simple bottle, but a pump would have been more efficient, for sure.

Texture:

This looks like a white cleansing milk, with a subtle scent that wasn’t bothersome at all. It smells like something herbal/natural. The consistence is that of a lightweight liquid cleanser.

Ingredients:

Aqua (Water), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, Decyl Glucoside, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Coco-Caprylate, Squalane / Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Lactobacillus, Alpha Glucan-Oligosaccharide, Polymnia Sonchifolia Root Juice, Salix Nigra (Willow) Bark Extract, Avena Sativa Kernel (Oat Milk) Extract, Mel (Manuka Honey), Aleurites Moluccana (Kukui) Seed Oil, Euterpe Oleracea (Acai) Fruit Oil, Camellia Oleifera (Camellia) Seed Oil, Crambe Abyssinica (Abyssinian) Seed Oil, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Fruit Oil, Rubus Fruticosus (Blackberry) Leaf Extract, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice Powder, Tilia Cordata (Linden) Flower Extract, Cananga Odorata (Ylang Ylang) Flower Oil, Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin) Peel Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Oil, Litsea Cubeba (May Chang) Fruit Oil, ,Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Xanthan Gum, Maltodextrin, Citric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Limonene, Linalool, Citral, Benzyl Benzoate, Geraniol, Benzyl Salicylate.

The key ingredients listed are willow bark (salicylic acid, a natural BHA), rosehip seed oil, squalane and Manuka honey. There is also sweet almond oil, shea butter, mango seed butter, cocoa seed butter and plenty of other natural ingredients in here so I think it the formula looks great.

Price and accessibility:

Unfortunately, Balance Me products are not available in Romania, so I would have to order them from international websites such as Lookfantastic, in which case shipping costs are a pain in the ass. The cleansing milk retails for 21 euros on the brand’s website, so I don’t think it’s that expensive, it’s a mid-range price. Personally, I don’t like to pay much for cleansing products in general because I just wash them off, it’s not like they absorb into the skin so I don’t expect to get many benefits from them.

My overall opinion:

I used this cleansing milk for a double cleanse in the evening, like I would use a cleansing balm. I just poured some in the palm of my hand and rub it gently in dry skin, then I would rinse and then use a cleansing gel. I did notice that it remove my makeup, but I don’t wear much to begin with, so I can’t say how efficient it truly is. The skin does feel smooth and soft after using it.

For a gentle and nourishing cleansing milk, I think it gets the job done and the formula is packed with many great natural ingredients, so I would recommend it, but because I can’t get it easily in my country, I won’t go out of my way to purchase it on my own.
