September is my birthday month and it’s also the “birthday” of the Lookfantastic beauty box. I think this their 7th year, because last September they celebrated 6 years. No wonder this month’s theme is Celebration Of Beauty.

I expected a special box, maybe even with an extra goodie thrown in there, but not such luck. Instead, we did get a box with a special design created by the Anastasiya Sergeevna, who won a competition held back in January to create a design of the box. The design is nice, I’m not gonna say anything about it, I also like the blue and turquoise color scheme, but the box itself…let’s see what we got. These are all brands that we had before and they say that these products are some of the fan’s favorites.

Ameliorate Smoothing Body Exfoliant (50 ml)

I like Ameliorate products, I remember I particularly liked one of their body lotions and I think they are great for those bumps on the skin that appear sometimes after shaving. I’m curious to see how this body exfoliant works. It’s a decent size, I would say a travel size since the full size one only has 150 ml. That one retails for 101.70 lei (20.55 euros) on the Lookfantastic website, so this one is worth 6.86 euros. The body exfoliant contains lactic acid, shea butter and coconut oil. 3INA The Color Pen Eyeliner in the shade 575 (full size)

The only makeup product in this box is a felt tip eyeliner from the brand 3INA. I only got a cream eyeshadow before that I must say I did end up enjoy using, so I’m not mad about this eyeliner because I can always use a new one. Plus, this one has a nice chocolate brown shade, not just the classic black we always get. This colored pen retails for 73.17 lei (14.79 euros) on the Lookfantastic website.

BeautyPro Brightening Sheet Mask

I guess this could also count as a full size mask since most sheet masks are also sold individually. It contains collagen, vitamin C and aloe vera. Honestly, I’m kind of over sheet masks and I don’t usually buy them, so when I get some in beauty boxes I do enjoy a little pamper session with them. This mask retails for 27.97 lei (5.65 euros) on the Lookfantastic website.

Christophe Robin Hydrating Melting Mask with Aloe Vera (40 ml)

Christophe Robin is another brand that I like, at least as far as I can remember because I think I had another mask from them and I really liked it. This one has aloe vera juice listed as the first ingredient, so it looks promising. This one is a mini size, as the full size is 200 and it retails for 158.20 lei on the Lookfantastic website. SVR Palpebral Eyelid Cream (full size)

The other full size item in this box is an eye cream from a very nice brand, SVR. This is a French brand that is suitable even for sensitive skin. The weird name of this eye cream just means that is supposed to reduce redness and/or irritation for those who have dry or very sensitive eyelids. I have an eye cream that I need to finish up first, but I will certainly use this as well. The eye cream contains 15 ml and it’s sold for 15 euros on the brand’s website. By Terry Baume de Rose Flaconette (travel size)

This was last month’s sneak peek and it’s not only a brand that I know, but it’s also a repeat product because I had this mini lip balm in another box in the past. Normally, I wouldn’t be too happy about it, but it’s a lip balm that I loved and it’s one of the best I have used. The travel size contains 2.3 grams and it’s sold for 16.66 euros on the brand’s website.

The total value of September’s box is 65.35 euros, which is a great value as it’s worth more than what they promised. Even though there wasn’t anything too exciting in here, because I know all of the brands that we got, the good thing there were products that I know I’ll like: the lip balm, the eye cream, the hair mask and the body exfoliant. I don’t know about the eyeliner yet and sheet mask is nothing to be too excited about, but 4 out of 6 products is not bad. We got a nice mix this month, skin care, body care, hair care and a makeup item. The two full size items are the eyeliner and the eye cream and even the sheet mask if we count it as full size, so for the price of the box it’s good to receive two full size items from two good brands.

The sneak peek for October’s beauty box doesn’t have a high value (10 UK pounds), but it’s from another brand that I like: Rituals The Ritual Of Mehr Body Cream (70 ml), so I’m happy about that and I hope next month’s box will be at least as good as this one. They also pus some pictures of the special boxes that are coming next: the Luxe Collection with 9 products worth 128 UK pounds (which sound interesting, let’s see what it will have inside) and the NEOM LE worth 118 UK pounds. Also, there’s the advent calendar that can already be pre-ordered, but I won’t get it this year because I would want only 3-4 products from it (many repeats from past beauty boxes and boring products) and it’s not worth buying it and a Christmas beauty chest that I’m curious to see what it will contain.

Compared to last year’s beauty box, that one had an amazing value, 79.41 UK pounds (more than 90 euros) and it contained a mini Illamasqua highlighter, a mini Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine cream, a lip pencil from Diego Dalla Palma, a hair mask from ESPA, a makeup brush from Luxie and a jade roller from Brushworks, plus a popsocket as an extra bonus. While the selection of products was the same, they had some more expensive brands. However, I would say I like this box as well, but last year’s was better for me, just because there was the Elemis cream which is one of my favorites, the highlighter (more exciting than the eyeliner) and the makeup brush that I also liked very much.
