I have no reasoning to why I bought this eyeshadow base, especially since I saw that Alverde makeup in general is not too raved about among German beauty bloggers and vloggers. But I was again convinced by the low price and decided to give it a shot because I have oily eyelids and all the eyeshadows that I use do crease on me.
Alverde is a German beauty brand that is sold exclusively in DM stores. They have a wide range of skincare , bath and body products, as well as makeup. They’re selling point is that they are a natural cosmetics brand. I think I only tried a mascara from their makeup line which was disappointing as well, but I wanted to see if this was better or a dud as well.
Packaging:
The eyeshadow base comes in a plastic tube with the dove foot applicator. It’s a rather small quantity, just 3.5 ml, but it’s not a mini or a travel sized product. That’s all you get.

Texture:
This eyeshadow base has a very creamy consistency, which means that it was probably also my mistake to pick it out because I think it would have been more suited for dry skin, not for oily skin. There weren’t any other shades available, but I didn’t notice any difference on my skin but I do have pale skin so I don’t know how this would look on darker tones.

Ingredients:
Aqua, Glycine Soja Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil*, Alcohol*, Glycerin, CI 77891, Shea Butter Ethyl Esters, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Alcohol, Lauroyl Lysine, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter*, Cetearyl Glucoside, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Dehydroxanthan Gum, Algin, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil*, Parfum**, Limonene**, Citronellol**, Linalool**, Geraniol**, Citral** * ingredients from certified organic agriculture ** from natural essential oils
As far as I can tell from the formula, there are plenty of moisturizing ingredients in here, like the shea butter, glycerin, jojoba butter and sunflower seed oil. This is a vegan formula.
Price and accessibility:
Like I said before, Alverde products are available only in Dm stores, so there is where this eyeshadow base can be found. I bought it for around 2.5 euros on sale (it retails for 2.75 euros on the German website) so it’s really cheap. The quantity is somewhat low but an eyeshadow base can hold for a long time. However, I just mention this because some other eyeshadow bases contain up to 15 ml each, so of course, the higher price point is more than fair in those cases.
My overall opinion:
To be honest, I didn’t notice any improvement if I use this eyeshadow base or not because my eyeshadows crease on me all the same. It’s probably a nice product for people with dry skin, to create a smooth surface on which to apply color or to even out the skin tone a little bit, but other than that, no. It doesn’t provide that grip that other eyeshadow bases have nor does it intensify the color of the eyeshadows.
Since I don’t think this works like a classic eyeshadow base and it’s suitable only for certain people and even in those cases with no great results, I don’t recommend this product.
