ESPA 24-Hour Replenishing Eye Moisturizer review

I only had a travel size of this eye cream (7 ml) but I was able to use it for a month now because I applied it in the evenings each day and in the mornings only when I had more time to do my skin care routine, so about half of the time.

Packaging:

The full size product (15 ml) comes in a jar, but the travel size comes in a plastic tube. I don’t mind either type of packaging.

Texture:

This eye cream has the consistency of an usual moisturizer. It’s white and it has the typical scent of ESPA products, which to be honest I’m not a fan of and it’s one of the reasons why I don’t care much for the brand.

Ingredients:

Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Isopropyl Palmitate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitol, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Sodium Pca, Phenoxyethanol, Borago Officinalis Seed Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Xanthan Gum, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Centaurea Cyanus Flower Extract, Tocopherol, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Prunus Persica (Peach) Kernel Oil, Benzoic Acid, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Sodium Lactate, Dehydroacetic Acid, Aniba Rosaeodora (Rosewood) Wood Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Oil, Linalool, Caprylyl Glycol, Sorbitan Stearate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Fragrance (Parfum), Sodium Hydroxide, Boswellia Carterii Gum Oil, Citrus Aurantium Amara (Bitter Orange) Flower Oil, Salvia Sclarea (Clary) Oil, Santalum Album (Sandalwood) Oil, Benzyl Alcohol, Geraniol, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil, Potassium Sorbate, Limonene, Styrax Tonkinensis Resin Extract, Maltodextrin, Chlorophyllin-Copper Complex.

I’m glad to see that the formula is alcohol free, but there are plenty of oils in here and probably that mix is what gives it a potent scent, which may be a problem for people with sensitive skin.

I see some antioxidants in here like the olive fruit oil, tocopherol, green tea leaf extract and the chlorophyllin-copper complex.

There are also some skin-identical ingredients that are always a bonus: glycerin and sodium PCA.

The soothing ingredients are the starflower seed oil, the evening primrose oil, the Roman chamomile flower oil and the green tea leaf extract.

I also like the sweet almond oil, the soybean oil, the jojoba seed oil, the macadamia seed oil and the sunflower seed oil.

Ginkgo Biloba is one of the key ingredients listed on the brand’s website to prevent blemishes and to protect the skin barrier.

The only things that can potentially be irritating are the perfumes and the bitter orange flower oil.

Price and accessibility:

ESPA products are not available in Romanian stores, so I would have to order them from Lookfantastic or other international websites, which I won’t do, especially since the full size is sold for 60 euros on the brand’s website.. That’s way too much for an eye cream and I don’t do luxury skin care.

My overall opinion:

For me, it was just a normal eye cream, I didn’t notice anything special to make me think that this is some amazing product, so definitely not worth the high price tag. Also, the scent really bothers me and that’s why I’m not a fan of ESPA products in general.

If you want to indugle in some luxury skin care, I’m sure there are many more interesting alternatives out there.
