This is just the second time when I tried a product from the brand Ameliorate, but I loved the body lotion and now I got to also try a body exfoliator because I received a travel size product in September’s Lookfantastic beauty box.

Packaging:

Both the full size product (150 ml) and the travel size product (50 ml) come in plastic tubes that have a simple design, white and turquoise.

Texture:

The body exfoliant looks just like a white cream and it has very fine exfoliating particles in it, so maybe that’s why it’s also good for sensitive skin as well. It also has a very nice scent that I noticed is typical for all Ameliorate products, a signature scent so to say.

Ingredients:

The key ingredients listed on the brand’s website are biodegradable bamboo granules, Alpha Hydroxy Therapy, the LaH6 Skin hydration complex, shea butter and coconut oil.

The main exfoliating ingredient in this formula is the lactic acid, which is very nice, especially for KP bumps, which I have on my arms, so I know the struggle is real. There is also glycerin, serine and urea in it, which are all skin-identical ingredients, as well as allantoin which is soothing.

Price and accessibility:

Unfortunately, Ameliorate products are not available in Romanian stores, so i would have to purchase them online only, so I that’s too bothersome for me, especially for something that I would have to repurchase often. This body exfoliant is sold for 21 euros on the brand’s website, which I do find to be a little bit pricier for a body exfoliant, especially because it’s something that I would use up fast.

My overall opinion:

I didn’t get to use this exfoliant only three times, so a full size tube would also not last for a long time, but I did notice an improvement in the KP bumps on my arms. KP is short for keratosis pilaris, a skin issue that makes your skin look like you have permanently “goose bumps”. Probably if I was able to use it more, I would get rid of them for good, but I did notice that I have fewer bumps after only a few uses.

Therefore, if you are able to try Ameliorate products and you can afford them, I think that they are very helpful for people with keratosis pilaris and this body exfoliant does help with this skin issue without causing any irritation. It’s supposed to also be good for very rough or dry skin, so I think Ameliorate products are really among the products that do work to treat this problem.
