I got this eye cream in last month’s Lookfantastic box which was a good thing because I needed a new eye cream, but I can’t say that I was that excited about the SVR brand. This is an eye cream targeted towards people with itchy and irritated eyelids which is not my case, so take my review with a grain of salt because I’m absolutely not in the target audience for this product.

Packaging:

The eye cream comes in a plastic tube containing 15 ml and it has that pointy tip that helps you get out only small amounts of product (as you should for an eye cream).

Texture:

The cream has a thick density but it has a very light texture. Since SVR products are hypoallergenic, it doesn’t contain any fragrance. It feels nice on the skin and it absorbs very fast.

Aqua/​Water/​Eau, Propanediol, Hydrogenated Polydecene, C15-19 Alkane, Orbignya Oleifera Seed Oil, Polyacrylamide, Behenyl Alcohol, Caprylic/​Capric Triglyceride, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Saccharide Isomerate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tocopheryl Acetate, 1,2-Hexanediol, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Caprylyl Glycol, Ceteareth-20, Citric Acid, Gossypium Herbaceum (Cotton) Seed Oil, Laureth-7, Pentylene Glycol, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Polyacrylate Starch

The key ingredients in the formula are tocopheryl acetate (an antioxidant), sodium hyaluronate (skin-like ingredient) and dipotassium glycyrrhizate (a soothing ingredient). Also, the saccharide isomerate is a very good moisturizing ingredient. As natural ingredients there is babassu oil (rich in fatty acids) and cotton seed oil.

Price and accessibility:

SVR products are available here in Romania in some pharmacies, as well as in online store. The pricing is the one for a good drugstore skin care brand (comparable with La Roche Posay) for example, so they’re easy accessible. This eye cream is sold for 15 euros on the brand’s website and that’s about the same price for what I can find it here.

My overall opinion:

This eye cream is supposed to be great for itchy and irritated eyelids, it reduces redness and it hydrates the skin. Since I don’t have any of those problems, for me it was just a regular eye cream and I couldn’t test it on someone else because I don’t know anyone with irritated eyelids.

Just like the face cream that I got to try from SVR in the past, it just doesn’t make me want to seek out more of their products as I find them to be just average. Yes, they are affordable and i think it’s great that they are made for people with allergies in mind, but for me, they’re just not that amazing. This eye cream for example, could have been a little more nourishing in my opinion because I felt that the eye area was smooth and hydrated but I also felt like I could have something more, you know? A little more hydration.

Therefore, I can’t recommend this eye cream because I don’t know if it really does what it should, but I also can’t say that it’s no good. It’s just an ok-ish product in my book.
