I got this face cream in last month’s Lookfantastic box and I’ve used ever since in the evening. Since it was a generous travel size (30 ml) it lasted me for about a month, enough to form an opinion on it. I liked other Comfort Zone products that I used in the past, so I was convinced that this face cream will not make an exception.
Packaging:
The full size product (60 ml) comes in a jar, but the travel size comes in plastic tube. They both have the same navy blue color with white cap. I don’t mind tubes or jar, I prefer pump bottles but this is also ok.
Texture:
The cream doesn’t have a thick texture, it’s more like a white lotion with a subtle sweet scent, but nothing that should be bothersome. It absorbs fast into the skin and it makes the skin feel soft and smooth.
Ingredients:
Aqua/Water/Eau, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Orbignya Oleifera Seed Oil, Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Hexyldecyl Laurate, Hexyldecanol, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Propylheptyl Caprylate, Cetearyl Isononanoate, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter/Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Sodium Acrylates/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Sorbitan Laurate, Lycium Barbarum Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil/Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Hydrolyzed Tomato Skin, Parfum/Fragrance, Xanthan Gum, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium Anisate, Citric Acid, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Tocopherol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Lauryl Glucoside, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Geraniol, Sodium Benzoate
Glycerin is a skin-like ingredient and though it’s not rare or glamorous it’s great for the skin. Other good ingredients in this formula are macadamia seed oil, shea butter, jojoba seed oil (all are great to hydrate the skin), tocopherol (antioxidant) and sodium hyaluronate (also to hydrate the skin). There is no alcohol in here but there is fragrance. I didn’t have any problems with skin irritations. There are also other interesting plant-based ingredients like the babassu oil and the goji berry seed oil which are also powerful antioxidants.
Price and accessiblity:
Comfort Zone products are not widely available in Romania, so they can be purchased only from some online shops where it’s sold for about 55 euros, so it’s quite expensive. It’s out of my price range so I wouldn’t spend so much on a face cream.
My overall opinion:
I did enjoy using this face cream, especially now that we’re in the winter and my skin tends to get drier in certain areas. It does make the skin look shiny but since it’s a night cream I don’t mind. It’s not sticky or anything and it’s a rich cream so a little goes a long way.
It’s a face cream that I would like to reuse, but I don’t want to spend so much on a product that I would use up fast, so the only things that stops me is the price. Otherwise, I think it’s a good night face cream for dry or combination skin and even for sensitive skin because it doesn’t seem to contain a lot of perfume.
