Garnier Organic Rosy Glow 3 in 1 Youth Cream review

When I saw this face cream on the Notino website I was intrigued because I hadn’t seen it in stores and I wanted to get a face cream to brighten up dull skin during the winter season. Plus, it was pink, it was vegan (the Garnier Bio range is 100% vegan), so I was happy to see how it would work out.

Packaging:

The face cream comes in a glass jar that contains 50 ml. It’s clear and it has a white plastic lid. Nothing too fancy, but also it doesn’t look cheaply made.

Texture:

The face cream has the consistency of a pink clay face mask because it looks very pink and it does feel thick. A little really goes a long way in my case at least. It also has a rose scent and I know that many people don’t like anything rose scented but personally I do quite enjoy the scent. Of course, it doesn’t actually look pink on the face because it absorbs into the skin.

Ingredients:

Aqua / Water, Dicaprylylether, Caprylic/capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil/Jojoba Seed Oil, Propanediol, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Glyceryl Stearate, Pentylene Glycol, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Rosa Kanina Seed Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Calcium PCA, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Sodium Phytate, Arginine, Silica, Alcohol, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Xanthan Gum, Tocopherol, Salicylic Acid, CI77491/Iron Oxides, CI77891/Titanium Dioxide, Mica, Linalool, Geraniol, Eugenol, Limonene, Citral, Citronellol, Benzyl Alcohol, Parfum/Fragrance (F.I.L B265229/1)

The key ingredients listed on the brand’s website are organic rosehip seed oil (cold-pressed from hand-picked rosehip seeds) and vitamin C obtained via plant biotransformation.

There is also salicylic acid in there (anti-acne ingredient), argan seed oil, ascorbyl glucoside and tocopherol (antioxidants), glycerin and arginine (skin-like ingredients), aloe leaf juice powder (soothing) and jojoba seed oil. I know there is also perfume in there, but it’s the last thing on the list, so I really don’t care.

Price and accessibility:

So far I’ve seen this face cream only in online stores and on mine it didn’t even have a Romanian label, so I don’t think it was launched on the Romanian market. I got my face cream for around 7 euros, which I think is reasonable for a face cream (plus, I think it was a 20% off offer or something like that).

My overall opinion:

While the ingredients look good and I love that it’s a vegan product, I think it’s just too much for my oily/combination skin. I look way too shiny when I use it and it’s not that my skin looks glowy, it looks greasy. So, to be honest I think it’s suitable more for dry skin or at least for normal skin, but not for me. I don’t think it’s a bad product, it’s just not my type of product.
