Elemis Pro-Collagen Energising Marine Cleanser review

This was the last skin care product that I hade to use up from my Lookfantastic boxes. I do miss them a little bit, but on the other hand, I’ve seen the boxes from this year so far and and I can’t say that I would have been excited about the products. Anyway, let’s get on with reviewing this cleanser.

Packaging:

The full size product comes in a bottle and it contains 150 ml, but I had the mini size (30 ml) which is actually available for sale on the brand’s website and it comes in a plastic tube. It’s a little more difficult to get the right amount out, so I would usually pour out more that I wanted to.

Texture:

The gel is not that thick and it has a very light blue color and a subtle scent. I did like it because it felt very gentle on the skin.

Ingredients:

Aqua/Water/Eau, Glycerin, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Lauryl Glucoside, Xanthan Gum, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Phenoxyethanol, Hydroxypropyl Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Chlorphenesin, Sodium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance (Parfum), Copper PCA, Maris Sal/Sea Salt/Sel Marin, Succinic Acid, Euterpe Oleracea (Acai) Fruit Extract, Lactic Acid, Padina Pavonica Thallus Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Zinc Gluconate, Magnesium Aspartate, Acacia Decurrens (Mimosa) Flower Extract, Rosa Centifolia Flower Extract, Linalool, Lactobacillus Ferment, Citronellol, Geraniol, Copper Gluconate, Rhizobian Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate.

The key ingredients listed on the website are succinic acid, lactic acid, ferulic acid (all with anti-aging properties), brown algae (love this ingredient), magnesium, zinc and copper.

There are also other interesting ingredients in here such as sea salt, acai fruit extract, mimosa flower extract, rose flower extract and Lactobacillus ferment (probiotics).

I mean, I know Elemis is an expensive brand, but the formula looks very nice. I don’t mind the perfume because my skin is not sensitive to scented cosmetics.

Price and accessibility:

Elemis products are available in Romania in Douglas stores and in several online shops. The full size products is sold on the brand’s website for 54 euros, while the deluxe sample size I had is sold for 12.50 euros (which is still expensive because 30 ml won’t last for a long time).

My overall opinion:

While I did like this cleanser very much, like I did with all Elemis products that I tried so far (all from the Pro-Collage Marine line) it’s definitely something that is out of my price range. But, for those who are able to splurge on good skin care, I definitely think Elemis products are something worth at least trying.

As a cleanser, it did what it was supposed to: it cleaned my skin while being gentle enough not to cause any dryness or irritation, so I think that it did a good job. The skin felt refreshed and soft after using it, so I don’t have anything negative to say about this.
