Jennifer Lopez Miami Glow EDT review

It’s summer, it’s hot outside and I feel like surrounding myself with fruity and sweet scents and that’s why I decided to give it a go and try the Miami Glow perfume by Jennifer Lopez Beauty (that’s not a thing anymore I know because now she has skin care products). I heard good things about this perfume and I got it from Notino. Some say it’s discontinued so this may be an old batch, others say it’s still available, so I don’t know what to say.

Miami Glow was launched way back in 2005 and it was created by the perfumeur Caroline Sabas. On the packaging, it says it’s made in France by SA Designer Parfums Ltd from the UK and distributed by EA Cosmetics Distributions GmbH from Germany. So…I really don’t know who’s behind this perfume because it just seems like a private label that used Jennifer Lopez as their face for some perfumes.

Anyway, I don’t have the best experiences with celebrity perfumes, but the fan in me does want to smell like their favorite celebrity (or what I think they smell like).

Packaging:

The bottle is very simple, which is a little off putting because JLo is usually so extra and glam all the time, I just don’t see her choosing something so basic. There is also a little bracelet wrapped around the bottle with some sandal charms on it that you can wear (if you want). The bottle contains 100 ml, but I suspect I’ll still finish it it quickly and I will tell you why later on.

Perfumes notes:

Top notes: passionfruit, coconut milk and pink grapefruit

Middle notes: orange blossom, cyclamen and heliotrope

Base notes: vanilla, musk and amber

What I like about these notes are all the flowers, all the fruits and the vanilla, so I figured it would be a nice perfume.

Price and accessibility:

I’ve seen this perfume available only in online shops, precisely beauty outlets, so maybe it’s not available anymore. I got mine for about 32 euros, which is decent considering the size of the bottle.

My overall opinion:

Well, I had high expectations for this one because I’m a fan of Jennifer Lopez and since I can’t afford any of the other things she endorses, like the skin care, the sunglasses and so on, I picked the drugstore option.

It is sexy and warm and sweet, because I sense mostly the coconut milk, the vanilla and a flowery mix of scents. At first, it doesn’t smell nice, to be honest, but after a few minutes when it settles on the skin, it’s a lot nicer. The only things is that, yes the longevity is not great. I applied a generous amount on the skin and on the clothes (I know, I’m a perfume whore), I used a little body lotion on the key spots where I sprayed it, but after about 4 hours I think the scent was gone.

I will say, it’s a nice summery perfume for the price, but it’s not really my thing. I wanted to like it more, but it wasn’t the case. For now, I don’t think I will try other of her perfumes.
