Gosh Woody Eye Liner review

I got this pencil eye liner in a Notino beauty box as well and although I prefer retractable eye liners because I don’t need to sharpen them, I do like pencil eye liners as well because they tend to last longer (since they are not so creamy) and they also don’t melt. I just threw out a nice eye liner because I had it with me on a weekend break and it broke off because of the heat on the train. So yes, retractable eye liners are easier to use, but they are not good for keeping in your bag.

Gosh Cosmetics is a Danish cosmetics brand that was established in 1945 as a pharmaceutical company. Over the years the focus shifted on beauty products and now Gosh Cosmetics is known as Gosh Copenhagen. I love trying all kinds of European brands and I’ve heard about Gosh but I didn’t have the opportunity to purchase something from them because they’re a bit on the pricier side.

Packaging:

This eye pencil is special because it’s made of renewable wood. So, it’s an actual wooden pencil, which is why it has the name “woody”. Being part of the “Green Vibes Only” beauty box, it doesn’t surprise me that they chose to include this eye pencil in it. It looks cool. It contains 1.1 grams, which seems not like much, but most eye pencils have less than a gram of product, so it’s good.

Texture:

There are 6 shades available and I have the 003 Teak shade, which is a cool brown and it goes great with my hazel eyes. To be honest, I prefer brown shades for everyday makeup because they’re not as harsh as black. The pencil is not hard and it’s easy to apply even in the waterline.

Ingredients:

MICA, CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE), CAPRYLIC / CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, STEARYL DIMETHICONE, CI 77492 (IRON OXIDES), HYDROGENATED PALM GLYCERIDES, POLYGLYCERYL-3 METHYLGLUCOSE DISTEARATE, TALC, MICONROCYRIC (MICROCRYRIC) OCTADECENE, CI 77491 (IRON OXIDES), SYNTHETIC WAX, KAOLIN, POLYETHYLENE, TOCOPHEROL, ASCORBYL PALMITATE

The formula is vegan and cruelty free.

Price and accessibility:

Gosh products are available in Romania in Douglas stores and in several online shops. Since I have mine from Notino, I looked it up and this pencil is sold on their website for around 6 euros. I think it’s a little much for a pencil eye liner, but I don’t think it’s a bad product. I mean, I would pay just half of that for an eye pencil, but that’s just me.

My overall opinion:

So far, I have no complaints about this eye pencil. It’s not smudge free, although it says on it that it’s waterproof. It isn’t, it does wear off if you get teary eyes for example. But, it is creamy enough to put it in the waterline and the shade that I have is beautiful, so I suppose the rest of the shades are also nice. So, I’m glad I have it but I can’t say that I would go out of my way to repurchase it. Maybe if it’s on sale, yes, I would get it.
