I’m the type of person that always loves a good deal. So, this brand, Arganiae has partnered up with my bank for cash back and I also saw that there were big sales going on the website, so I decided to purchase a couple of things just to try them out.
Arganiae is a brand of the Voltolina Cosmetics company, a company based in Venice, Italy. And I know I’m biased when I say this because I don’t know if I’m 100% right, but I have a very good opinion about Italian cosmetics in general, regardless if it’s skin care or makeup. The brand was founded in 2005 by Giuseppe Voltolina and is now available in several countries all over the world.
Packaging:
This peeling is meant for face and body, so it’s available in different sizes: 75 ml, 150 ml and 250 ml. I have only the small size, because I wanted to give it a try first and I use it on my face. It comes in a plastic tube and I like the font of the logo because it reminds me of those old apothecaries.
Texture:
It looks like a white thick cream and it has very fine exfoliating particles in it. It’s also scented, so know that I don’t know how it works for sensitive skin.
Ingredients:
Aqua, Glycerin**, Persea gratissima oil**, Ethylhexyl cocoate**, Oryza sativa powder**, Glyceryl stearate citrate**, Cetearyl alcohol, Glyceryl stearate, Butyrospermum parkii butter**, Prunus amygdalus dulcis oil**, Oryza sativa starch**, Cocos nucifera oil**, Simmondsia chinensis seed oil**, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil*, Benzyl alcohol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Xanthan gum**, Parfum, Sodium Gluconate, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Olea europaea leaf extract**, Beta-sitosterol**, Helianthus annuus seed oil**, Lactic acid, Tocopherol**, Glyceryl linoleate, Squalene**, Citric acid.
The key ingredients are argan oil, coconut oil, shea butter, sweet almond oil and avocado oil. I know this sound like something more suitable for dry skin, but since it’s a peeling cream that you rinse off, I think it works for all skin types. Also, I learned over the years that oils are not bad for oily or combination skin and it’s just a myth. The exfoliating ingredient is rice powder, so nothing too harsh, no grinded peach seeds or anything like that.
Price and accessibility:
So far, in Romania, I’ve seen Arganiae products only on the brand’s online shop. This peeling is sold for around 13 euros. The big 250 ml one is sold for 35 euros. Personally, I wouldn’t pay that much for a body scrub because I think there are tons of cheaper alternatives, but for a face peeling it’s good, because you only use a small amount.
My overall opinion:
So, I used this peeling only twice so far, because I don’t plan to use it more than once or twice a week, but I did notice that the skin feels smooth and soft (which isn’t unusual for a peeling), but it also looks glowy, which I love. I think it’s a very nice product and it sparked my interest in further exploring the brand.
