This little eye pencil was a pleasant surprise that I didn’t even buy. I got it as a gift with purchase when I ordered my mother’s favorite perfume for Christmas. They also accidentally put two pencils in the parcel instead of two, but hey, I’m not complaining.

Packaging:

This is a retractable eye pencil that comes in a simple black plastic tube. The color of the cap and of the end of the tube depends on the shade of the pencil. The tube contains only 0.3 grams, but it’s not unusual for retractable pencils to have a small quantity.

Texture:

This is a very creamy pencil as it’s no wooden, but it’s not that creamy that it breaks (how it happen to me with some other retractable pencils). Also, it is waterproof and I didn’t have any surprises with this pencil even when I had teary eyes. There are 7 shades available that are called simply depending on the color, so I have the shade Black (for both of them).

I appreciate the fact that it contains cornflower extract, because I know it’s an ingredient that is good for sensitive eyes, as well as 99.4% ingredients of natural origin (such as macadamia oil and jojoba oil).

Price and accessibility:

Yves Rocher products are available through the brands online shops, but some of the products can be found in Dr. Max pharmacies as well as in a few online shops. I got mine from the brand’s online shop and it was a free gift but it’s normally sold for about 8 euros. Now, it may seem like a little much for a little retractable eye pencil, but if it’s a good quality I don’t mind it, because it’s still a drugstore price.

My overall opinion:

This eye pencil was such a great surprise because it really is waterproof, it feels nice on the eyes, without any irritations or other issues, so I do think it’s worth it. Also, it can be removed with makeup remover without any issues, so it’s not one of those products that stick to the skin no matter what you do.

In conclusion, this is definitely one of the products that I would classify as hits for the Yves Rocher brand, although I don’t hear anyone mentioning their pencils. The normal wooden pencils were not that great and I wouldn’t recommend them because there are cheaper options on the market, but this retractable waterproof ones are really good and I would definitely recommend them.
